Choirul Huda Indonesian Goalkeeper Died
Choirul Huda is Indonesian legendary goalkeeper from Persela Lamongan club. He died on Sunday 15 October 2017 after collision with his teammate during the Indonesian Super League match. He was playing for Persela FC on Sunday against Semen Padang in Liga 1, the top division of Indonesian football. The incident happened just before the half time.

Choirul Huda 38 years old was born in Lamongan on June 2 1979. He had made his debut since 1999 and also had made 500 appearances for the club Persela which are based in Lamongan, East Java. When match, he had rushed out to foil an attack by an opposition player but could not avoid oncoming defender Ramon Rodrigues in the end of the first half match. The goalkeeper collapsed after colliding with team mate and the opposition team, Marcel Sacramento. The Medics staff rushed onto the field. He was stretchered off the field while given oxygen masks to ease breathing. Then, Huda was rushed to Dr Soegiri Lamongan hospital.
A medical officer stated by Indonesian news portal Surya that Huda was conscious for a while and complained of chest pain before passing out. Dr. Yudistiro Andri Nugroho, an anesthesia specialist at the hospital said that the collision caused Huda stop breathing and suffers cardiac arrest. He also added that impact on the chest and lower jaw led to chest trauma, head trauma and neck trauma. The match continued following Huda's injury, and Persela went on to beat Semen Padang with result 2-0. Choirul Huda was declared dead at 5.15pm local time in the company of his teammates.
The club added that Huda was the real legend of Persela. After his died, thousands of fans had lit candles in his honor. In social media like Instagram, Persela club said "Thanks for the endless dedication and inspiration for Persela, Lamongan and Indonesian football." Huda joins the unfortunate list of players who died while playing in the Indonesian league including Eri Irianto, Sekou Camara, Akli Fairuz, and Jumadi Abdi.
