Transgender Girl Banned In Australia Rugby League
Hannah Mouncey the transgender
Australian girl is banned in Rugby League by AFL. The Australian rugby league
authority AFL was criticized for forbidding a transgender woman to competing in
the upcoming women's league season. Hannah Mouncey before was an athlete of the
men's national team, but later she changed gender and wanted to compete as a
female rugby player. On the other hand, AFL tried to ban her because
considering Mouncey’s physical condition, strength, and stamina compared to the
other players.

On Tuesday 17 October the AFL
said ”We consider all information provided by Mouncey including the available
data about her strength, stamina, physical and rule of the AFLW (AFL women
league)”. The AFL has been praised before for being pioneer in held semiprofessional
rugby league for woman. Brett Murphy, The AFL manager does not get clues about
transgender players actually. But finally AFL gives an opportunity to Mouncey
that in the future may reapply in the women's rugby league. Hannah Mouncey or
her real named Callum admits being disappointed by the AFL decision which was
announced just a day before national selection player while the competition
will be held in 27 October. However, she was happy to be allowed to play in the
Canberra rugby championship.
On her twitter page, Mouncey
congratulates the candidates who participate in the election especially the
players from Canberra. She said “Although I cannot participate in the election
of national players, the AFL gives me full permission to strengthen Ainslie
next year at the AFL Canberra competition, which makes me happy and waits for
the next year before being nominated in next year's player election.” With
190cm tall and 100kg weight, Mouncey has participated for eight times to
strengthen Ainslie and has scored 17 goals.
