Basketball is a quite popular sport especially by teenagers around the world. For basketball players, it is important to know the violations and fouls in playing basketball because, in this sport, there are rules that have been set and must be obeyed. Therefore, the players should know this to avoid the violations and fouls happen in the game.

Violations in Basketball
- Foul. Breaking the opposite player by reaching or the wrong defense position.
- Traveling. Do not dribble the ball in 3 steps while running or walking.
- Offensive Foul. We hit the opponent who is in hands up position or in right charge position when we do illegal pick.
- Foul Out. The condition in which the player has made 5 regular fouls (FIBA), 6 times a foul (NBA), or has done a technical foul 2 times in 1 game. Therefore, the player who has foul should be out of the game laps.
- Double Dribble. Where the ball is in the state of death then you return to dribble the ball.
- Technical Foul. A technical-related violation of the rules of the game like someone protesting the referee continuously, not respecting the referee, issuing the dirty words, doing violence on the opponent, the bench doing what's not supposed to be, cursing, and etc.
- Three Seconds Violation. A violation is given when a player is in the area of a free zone for 3 seconds.
- Offensive 3 Second. Violation of silence in post or area of the opposing team for 3 seconds at opponent defense. Then, the ball moves to the other side.
- Defensive 3 Second. Violation of silence in the team area for 3 seconds when the opposing offense. Then, the opponent is allowed to do 1 throw-in.
- 24 Second Violation. A team player does not shoot/lay-up/dunk into the opponent ring past the 24 second time limit. The ball moves to Team B.
- 8 Second Violation. A team player does not get out of defense position for 8 seconds after the ball is held by another team A player who is offense and in team B area. The ball then switches to team B.
- Back Ball/Back Court. A violation because the player is carrying the ball back into the defensive area after crossing the center line.
- Blocking Foul. A violation of violent violations when blocking opponents.
- Team Foul. A violation in one team per round. If it is 5 points then it will be given a free throw on the opponent.
- Personal Foul. Individual violations max 4 times foul, if it is 5 times then will get foul out.
- Pushing. Violation for pushing the opponent to play.
- Jumping. A violation when the players will make a shot while making a leap but then did not make a shot.
- Shot Clock Violation. A violation when attacking more than 24 seconds (NBA) or 30 seconds (FIBA) before the ball touches the ring.
